Brook Street Chapel

Welcome

We are a dissenting, (non-conformist) Christian congregation.
We seek and practise faith with freedom, reason and tolerance.
Our roots lie in the Great Ejection of 1662 and the Glorious Revolution of 1688.
The congregation was founded by dissenting Presbyterians in 1687 and the chapel was built in 1689.
Along with many other English Presbyterian congregations, our spiritual ancestors adopted Unitarian beliefs towards the end of the 18th century, adding insights from the Free Christian movement during the 19th century.
We continue to cherish each part of our tradition, English Presbyterian, Unitarian & Free Christian.
We remain a dissenting Christian congregation, independent of mind and spirit, practising religious liberty and free inquiry while drawing wisdom and inspiration from our heritage.
Through the life and faith of this chapel, we find connection, meaning and purpose.
We hope that you will too.
Our postcode is WA16 8DY, and the chapel is on the rise, opposite King Street and the railway bridge.  For anyone with limited mobility, access can be had through the Hall doors (by the bus stop on Adams Hill) where there is a lift up to the level of the Chapel.
